Southwestern Colorado (July 2020)

On our last day, we decided to do a hike to the Bear Creek Waterfall, a journey that started out in Telluride. After a brief gondola ride over a breakfast, we set out on the trail (along with an increasing number of other hikers as the morning progressed) on a relatively mild (but increasing steep) upwards hike to the falls.

We finally reached the falls, after hiking through a brief avalanche-destroyed area, and I made the additional hike to the very foot of the falls while Jen waited by the giant boulder perched nearby. I stayed only briefly at the falls before returning, and Jen and I headed downhill back to town.

After relaxing and having lunch, we decided on a dinner hike down from the highest gondola station, essentially the other side of the trip down the ridge we made last time. I'd done this route with Richard before, although the bottom part was now diverted away from what was apparently private driveways.
