DAY 12
We had to a catch a ferry to the Westman islands at 7 pm, but the rest of our day was free. After some breakfast
and souvenir shopping we went out to a secluded campsite via a wandering dirt road for a hike. The campsite was
empty and the trailmarkers non-existant. After one false start, we finally found the trail and climbed, and
climbed... until finally David said he'd had enough as we reached snow and chilling blasts of wind off the ice
sheet. we turned around and reached town just in time for lunch.
From there we visited several waterfalls (mainly accessible by car) before catching the ferry to the isles, where
we checked into our well-pointed hotel and had another late dinner at a local grill.
