Southwestern Colorado (July 2020)

Jens leg fortunately had suffered painful but superficial injuries, and we decided to take the free gondola up to the peak overlooking town and hike down the trail there to the town of telluride (our hotel was actually in the ski resort a valley over from the town). The weather was clear and cooler than it had been at Durango’s lower elevations, and the path was a gravel road in good condition.

We encountered no one else heading down (although we encountered a few brave souls heading up, although notably on the bottom quarter of the trail) and made it down to the small town Telluride, where we took a look about, saw the farmers market, and had some refreshment.

The afternoon was largely spent relaxing, both inside and out, after returning to the hotel and spa via the gondola.
