Yellowstone Backpacking (August 2021)

Only Rich was slightly hungover the next morning; I, in particular, felt much better and was no longer limping around. On our way north, we stopped by
Grand Teton National Park (which was extremely crowded) to hike the String Lake loop. Weather was great, and many of the people there were out boating,
swimming, or wading in the lake. There was a good bit more elevation gain than anticipated, but it gave us a good view over the lake from the foothills.

From there, we drove into Yellowstone, dropping off our rented bear spray on the way out at a Sinclair gas station. We exited the east entrance (having
crossed all four during this trip) and descended through the mountains toward Cody, Wyoming. The trees gave way to desert mountains and plains by the time
we reached the bottom. We drove on to the small town of Lovell, where we ate at the restaurant next door to our hotel. Rich and I had Ribeye steaks,
which were quite good, although we had to go get Drew something appropriate from the local grocery. While we were at the grocery, we picked up some
beer and sat outside drinking, talking and enjoying the post-shower weather before turning in.
